I know Charlie — he’s quite a kid. Potential booger brain. The kind of kid most teachers would want in their classroom (well, most of the time anyway).

Is CHARLEY’S WORLD a new addition to the line of Non Sequitur rotating character spotlights mostly for Sunday N.S. strips?

My middle granddaughter developed an interest in insects, frogs, small fish, what have you. Her family lives in a place abutting a creek and about half a block from a millpond and small dam. She used to love going on walks and exploring roadside puddles and collecting things in a jar. (A regular Alix, for Stone Soup readers.)A couple of years ago, though, she receded into premature teenagerism. Now she spends most of her free time in her bunk bed (her older sister has the top one), texting and laptopping. She’ll be thirteen in two months.

I never knew that Captain Hammer’s first name was Charlie….

No doubt today’s strip is dedicated to backyard engineerseverywhere.

What ever happened to the Ekert?

BUT, he left the hammer OUT in the elements! Charlie should look for another occupation…something that doesn’t involve tools. Perhaps, crocheting.
