DO NOT leave a dog in the car while you shop, drink, eat or use the restroom.

I do in the spring and the fall – not too hot and not too cold – and then only to grab one or two things. (Generally dog food.)

In my town it has happened quite frequently this summer…People or the Police breaking out car windows to rescue dogs…and babies.

I have to take my dog with me. His separation anxiety is horrific and even his medication only keeps him from being aggressive towards people anymore. He no longer feels the need to protect me and is quite friendly now. Although he cannot be left alone. I take 2 sets of car keys. In the hot months i leave the car running with the AC on while shopping and during the cold months the heated seats and heater on. He can only be left alone in the car never the house.

Neither children or animals should be left alone in a car, A/C or not.

My walks past people’s backyards make so much more sense now. Dogs have serious territorial issues. No wonder I prefer cats …

This is one reason I hate dogs, is that they catch you off guard if you are getting in your car and a crazy dog is in a car next to yours and starts going nuts barking and growling.
