PaintTheDustYeah. Precisely where it is pointing, starting the exposure, etc. Relics from the film exposure days, now just more cartoon astronomy. The computer does that now. Just give it the right ascension and declination, and go back to bed. The real work is in the examination of the results of the telescope’s work. Don’t stay too long in the dome; this work is done at high altitudes and it is cold!

Cartoon astronomy. One does not look through those telescopes. Originally, they took photos, now the image goes directly to the computer.
