My older daughter would die if she had to dress like Teena; her younger sister is more “casual”, but likes getting dressed up once in a while.

Guess it’s Teena’s time.

Time to Learn how to LOOK like a “REAL” lady, girl..

just like “Normal”, its the middle of Two extremes.

If I were her dad I’d take her side and tell her mother to let her be herself. And saying predictably scruffy was mean on moms part.

I married a Tomboy! Couldn’t be happier.

Dad is doing the smart thing: staying out of it!

Sooner or later, some friend or schoolmate is going to introduce Teena to nail polish. And then the first bra – even though we’ve had a glimpse of that – and then lipstick, and it just goes on and on..Teena won’t become another Jeri because she’s not an airhead. But her femininity will definitely blossom, “when it’s your time.”

If she’s old enough for a training bra, she’s old enough to look more ‘cute’ and ‘styled’ on the outside.

Leave her alone. Let her become more feminine in her own time. Don’t try to force her to change or you will have a resentful kid on your hands.

From bright and cheery to unbearably miserable, in half a moment or less. Been there. Done that. Some parents are so great, right?

my mom treated me like this for years. now I live 1000 miles away, and visit maybe once a year. she claims she doesn’t understand why.
