Reminds me of a trip on an un-named airline, several years back. They passed out slips of paper where you could indicate what your lunch order would be. I think I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich. When the stewardess came by with my order she slapped a soggy, paper wrapped, something on the tray as she walked briskly by and several steps by, I heard her say; we are all out of ham and cheese, you’ll have to take this! It was a egg salad sandwich and when I picked it up, a stream of cloudy looking liquid came pouring out. Needless to say, I went without lunch that day. I also never flew with that airline again!
I never make egg salad, chicken salad or tuna salad anymore. Now that I learned how to make wraps, it takes no time at all to have the same ingredients in a wrap and all in nice bite chunks. IA with other posters who said that it is the mushiness of those “salads” that made them unappetizing to the kids.

Egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, etc. I won’t touch ‘em. I have a thing about eating things that look like it’s already been eaten.

I have no problem with egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad simply because it tastes good an doesn’t look anything like vomit.
