Jeri: Thankfully, something we are able to see more of again, with vinyl making a comeback.

When I was 16 my boyfriend at the time & I designed a Devo album cover, complete with title. I don’t remember the title, but could probably still sketch out the picture. It was a giant Devo hat rising out of a field with grass & trees.

Tull, or what passes for Tull today, will be at Wolf Trap in August. I’ll be there.

If you don’t appreciate, as in music appreciation, what has come before your favourite music era AND after it, you will be stuck in a boring rut of the same tunes forever. I grew up when the Beatles and the Stones were first starting. “Jungle music” was a common descriptive. My musical library is quite diverse; it includes classical, cool jazz, blues rock, Dean Martin, funk, James Taylor, Tina, Avril Lavigne (listen to her version of Metallica’s Fuel), some country, some hip hop…you get the picture. So, what’s an album? It’s your escape from grim reality, it is your joy, your sorrow.

The original albums were from the 78 RPM days. It was a book with sleeves for the individual records.

Come on, Jeri. Even CDs are called “albums” and they have cover art, too.
