Oh, my goodness.

He’s going to need a bigger bow and arrow.

So a lion was shot. In the USA, 27 people every day are killed by drunk drivers. HUMANS, including children. Every day almost 4 children are killed through abuse and neglect in the United States, not a third world country.

Get a grip, people. Sad to see a lion shot illegally, but killing children is illegal too and a far worse tragedy. I’ll save my ire for the perpetrators of child abuse and neglect and people who kill while driving drunk. Let’s solve those problems first, then worry about lions in Africa.

By the time we solve all those problems (if ever), there won’t be any lions anywhere.

could we please leave dentists alone? most of them are nice people. my dad’s getting very testy about this. the guy didn’t use a dental drill, it was bow and arrow.

So far, the man is proven guilty in the court of public opinion, and is entitled to his day in court if he is actually charged with a crime; which I might add, he has not!

just what we need, another one jumping on the politically correct bandwagon. if “cecil” hadn’t had a name most people wouldn’t have cared. also, several of the reports after cecil’s killing pointed out that without the trophy-hunting money the african reserves wouldn’t have the resources to fight the poachers who kill thousands of animals each year.

I suppose neither Lio nor most of the lion’s apparent friends on this thread are interested in an op-ed piece from someone who lived under the terror brought by lions; but if your mind is open at all, here it is. And this is the link to the original New York Times op-ed, not some right-wing rag.

Lots of people seem to have well-formed opinions about killing and punishment. I doubt many of them speak from experience. I visit my nephew on Death Row. Sentenced to die, he’s been locked up for the last 28 years, but it looks like the State may get back into the killing business.
