Are we going to have until week’s end when Opal finally accepts her plant’s status? Earl needs some back-up to convince Opal. The daughter and the sister-in-law for example.

I’ve told my family to leave me on the porch for a couple of days until they are sure. Then call the coroner.

Beware if she starts to water you, Earl!

You know, maybe “a little love” really is all that plant needs. It worked for Charlie Brown’s Christmas tree, after all!

Too much love isn’t necessarily a good thing.

Three days over a dead plant. Only two when they went to Hawaii. I’m starting to worry about Brian Crane.

I was after my wife to toss out a plant that was obviously dead. She refused and kept watering it. It came back and today it dominates the living room. Guess it wasn’t so obvious, after all.

A plant’s will to live always amazes me…….especially weeds.

First time this comic has made me laugh out loud in … well, ever, I guess. :)

She needs a wagon to carry out the small dead plant?

Opal would probably put Earl in the wagon and roll him down a hill…

in time she’ll give it a solemn burial. the wagon makes a good hearse

I have a black thumb.I don’t pamper my plants or talk to them.I believe in bringing them up by benign neglect.I am so bad, I’ve even had a cactus croak on me, in Arizona.

I had to laugh at this one because I seriously have a dying plant outside right now. I wanted to toss it and my husband put it outside to “revive.” The worst thing is that it really does look better now.

I once had a neighbor that was sort of like Opal.She had a small plant in the front room that needed a bit of water…. It was a hot summer day. . . So she went and got a big glass of ice water to dump on it.. She said that she likes ice water when its hot out and she figured that the plant would like the same !
