I think it refers to a thought that when a “dog” is ill the “dog” will eat grass to upchuck .

Is Henry vegetarian? Or is it an upset stomach? Maybe the farmers lost a few sheep too?

Dogs and cats eat grass because they like the taste…..however it makes them throw up. That’s the proper cause and effect…not the reverse.

My dog will whine if she has a stomach ache, go eat tall weeds/grass then throw up and feel better…I think this comic is referring to that.

Cats eat grass to get rid of the hairballs they get in the stomach from cleaning their fur.

When an Army helicopter has to make an emergency landing in a field, the owner is reimbursed. Sometimes they effectively buy the entire crop, rather than just an acre or two..If a fisherman’s net is damaged on a pipeline, the company buys new nets. Fishermen frequently drag near pipelines near the end of the season or when the nets are nearly worn out.Funny coincidence, that.Part of the cost of business.
