Good question, Cagney. My 6th grade teacher brought in someone who had traveled the world in the military to describe what he had experienced. (As Paul Harvey was fond of saying, “It is not one world.”) He described going to a Korean restaurant with friends who, for some reason, brought along their dog. They handed the dog off to their waiter, trying to convey that he should be taken in the back and fed something. He was taken in the back and fed — to his owners, because the staff thought they wanted him for dinner when they handed him over to the staff.
