Meemaw: I know you're a grown woman, Rose...but I'm still a mother! And if I see my child making unhealthy choices...I'm obligated to step in... No cookies before dinner.
Rose: Fine.
Whenever we go over to my parents’ home for dinner, she always has snacks out for our girls to nosh on. I have to tell HER that, if they snack, they won’t be hungry for dinner.
unfair people. you don’t know what health issues she has. i had an aunt who was obese through no fault of her own and it was heartbreaking the way people would sneer at her at the mall and assume she got that way by pigging out. she ate healthier than anybody i’ve ever known
Thank you, abbybookcase and Jessica_D, as well as anybody else who has come to Mee Maw’s defense. She is easily my favorite character in this strip, because she is fat, not in spite of it..Abby and Jessica have already said what I wanted to say, and probably better than I could say it..Other than this: I did agree with Oprah Winfrey on one thing, and that was this..Fat is the last safe prejudice!.Of course, Oprah pursued prejudice and discrimination against fat people, quite possibly worse than anyone I have ever known, except maybe Doctor Oz.

They will have both handled the cookie so either of them might as well eat it…

Looking at the size of the mother, she will probably eat it.

Yes, it’s sort of like an evil, deranged psychologist counseling unsuspecting people?

That rule just makes sure mom gets a healthy dose before others start in on the cookies.

Remember this the same mom who is often seen rock climbing, on archaeological digs, camping and hiking
