Ludwigā€™s leaving dirt tracks all over the place?

Is that a litter box or a wash tub in the first panel. It is time for Arlo to switch to clump litter.

The strip is a reference to ā€œThe Great Escapeā€ (the real-life event from which Stephen King stole this idea) and ā€œThe Shawshank Redemptionā€ and how the prisoners were able to hide their tunneling by dumping small amounts of dirt through the pockets and down their pantlegs to the prison yard.

Like I tell my relatives who have cats, ā€œGet rid of the cats!ā€

A pox on you petern0582! I love my cat. In my day I have had 6/8 of them. I put a pad down that catches most of the litter before she walks away. But Arlo is right! It does look like they are tunneling out.

We thought we were going to have to euth our cat yesterday, but the vet said she would try one more thing, and saved her.

I once used wood fuel pellets for litter, but found that the equine (horse) bedding pellets are even better. A 40 pound bag is about $5. Very little is tracked out, and itā€™s biodegradeable. I add it to the mulch on shrubs and flower beds. Better than adding another waste product to landfills.

those litter boxes with the small curved edge keep most of the scatter contained. If you own a cat you better have a broom handy.

I use the recycled newspaper pellets which have chlorophyll as an odor controller. It lasts longer than clay or clumping litter, doesnā€™t get tracked out, and, as Grainpaw does, can be used as biodegradable mulch.

My cats HATE clumping litter ā€” theyā€™ll use the carpet instead ā€” so itā€™s their bathroom and I use what they prefer!

I tried that. My cats used to ā€˜leapā€™ over the rug onto the floor where they would proceed to track the litter all over the room.

Now, just to make people jealous, Iā€™ll report that both my cats refuse to use kitty litterā€¦.Ha! They only want to do it outside! Even in the dead of winterā€¦I never have to empty the kitty litter boxā€¦Unless Iā€™m gone for a few days and they are locked insideā€¦They were born in a field, and lived there until a friend of a friend found them, so it must be more comfortable for themā€¦ā€¦..But because of that, one doesnā€™t know how to drink water normallyā€¦.She cups her paw and splashes it at her face aiming for her mouth! Man, does that make a messā€¦And pisses off her sisterā€¦..After Sparkle died, I was looking for two tortoise shell female kittens. I got two beautiful sistersā€¦.I sometimes go away for a whileā€¦Catā€™s do get lonely, and I always feel kinda bad when l eave a cat home aloneā€¦Also, I think they each like having an ally when dealing with meā€¦And yeah, they almost always win..

CharlyGirl, Iā€™m glad to see that at least somebody reads all the comments first, before postingā€¦..And, yeah, Iā€™m a cat guyā€¦Leonardo de Vinci said that the cat was Natureā€™s most perfect creatureā€¦Wouldnā€™t be awesome if cats had wings? Iā€™d love to see that!ā€¦.Watch out little birdiesā€¦.

A 2Ɨ4 box-frame, rabbit-fence atop, old rug underneath, cat-box atop that, so that when the catā€™s ā€˜doneā€™ the ā€˜sandā€™ drops thru the rabbit fence and thereā€™s no more barefoot curses in the middle of the night. Many more designs in hiding Catā€™s Privys on line. Use your imagination once in a while. Jeez.My poor 18 y/o kitty would get agitated while in transit while ā€˜snowbirdingā€™ but would settle down after the ordeal of motel living was over with.
