    Sorry Maj but QEII now has the record and it doesn’t look like she’s going to kick off anytime soon.

    The funny thing is, by all accounts Elizabeth II wanted the occasion to be low key because

    a) she viewed it partly as simply the result of not having died;

    b) part of the reason her reign has been so long is because her father died young; and

    c) she did want any suggestion that it was in any way a negative about Victoria (in fact, yesterday she wore a brooch made for Victoria by way of remembrance).

    We knew this was coming, didn’t we? BTW, Victoria became Queen at age 18, Liz, Jr. at age 25….

    I always told my mother that she looked a great deal like Queen Elizabeth, but mom, being a staunch ‘republican’ from Northern Ireland was not amused !If HRM lives as long as her mother, she’ll be ruling for quite a bit longer. God Save the Queen ! ( Sorry, Mom ).

    What a historic year for England – between Queen Elizabeth becoming the longest reigning monarch and the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta to the simply joy of Princess Charlotte it has had a number of great moments. God Save The Queen! Looking forward to her Platinum Jubilee on 6 February 2022!!

    Called it! Guess Her Maj will just have to be satisfied at being the longest-lived monarch (or should that be “longest re-lived”?). :-)

    QEII’s Queen Mum lived to over 100. I think Liz Jr. will go all the way.

    Boy would I have felt stupid if Liz Jr. had passed during the strip’s lead time.

    Long may she reign. At least until after Charles has passed, please.

    Charles is doing quite well, & he’ll make a fine King. Just not yet (That’s the worst part of the job, FWICS!)
