Maybe he’s not deep enough, or the tomb stones don’t always like up perfectly, we tend to think and hope they do but they can be off a few feet here or there. Also likely in the middle ages, there was only a wooden coffin if anything and those decompose way faster than the concrete bunkers we bury people in these days.

This was about two years before Robert was born.When my Grandmother was a girl, she was at a funeral where the “dead” girl raised up and asked her father if it was raining. He said yes and she lay back down in the casket.

That is the reason for embalming, to make sure the deceased was.

We joke about it, but it was a very serious thing in those days. Accounts exist of ancient Greek physicians using their medical skills to restore apparantly dead people to life.
