I can honestly say I have never been on the phone while driving. Then again, I’m one of the few people on the planet who has never owned any kind of cellphone.
I drove by a guy the other day whose face was in his phone. I leaned on my horn just to make sure he knew I was there and startled him. As he drove off onto the shoulder, he flipped me the bird as much as to say, “How DARE you interrupt my texting.”
There are stiff laws about using the cell phone while driving here too. The ironic part is, when cell phones first came out (late 80’s early 90’s) most of them were car phones – actually affixed in the car.
Andy is just like Bill Cosby described his mother in “The Grandparents” portion of Bill Cosby: Himself.“They ask you a question, you try and answer it, and they tell you shut up.”Mom: “Day and night, night and day work my fingers to the bone for what?”Bill: “I don’t…”Mom: “Shut up! When I ask you a question you keep your trap shut! Think I’m talking just to hear myself talk? ANSWER ME!”

Well, make up your mind, Andy. Did you want him to answer the phone or not (and yes, I agree that he should have pulled over first!)?

Don’t forget that these cartoons are over 10 years old. The big push to not talk and drive was just starting.

The big push now is is for the self-driving automobile. When it does become a reality, Mrs. Fox won’t have to worry about Peter talking and driving.
