This reminds me: Years ago I was having a conversation with my nephew. We were talking about how one of my nieces had her first baby. I mentioned how I felt old. My nephew asked me how I’d feel if HE had a baby. My answer: “I don’t know how I’d feel, but YOU’D be rich!”
Only one thing wrong with Jon’s idea: The proclivity of the Garfield Universe is toward Jon being a failure, so even he tried to be a failure and somehow failed, it wouldn’t last. ;)
I think this is based on an old Steven Wright bit. His response to the question was, “Woulld I have failed or succeeded?” Sure sonds like his kind of humour.

Reminds me of this line from Louie DePalma on “Taxi”: If a loser wants to lose, since he is a loser, the only way that he can stay a loser is to win.

Sounds a bit like the line about how to fly: throw yourself at the ground and miss. ;)

Jon really strikes true to his nature in this strip…. As does the cat.

Reminds me of the art, or, rather, knack to flying:
“The knack lies in learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.”
