Because it is a comic, aka not the real world. There are children, yes also black children, who want to dress such a way when doing these things. Would it be a possibly dumb thing to do in reality – most likely yes, but again this is NOT reality (the whole bit about them redoing sixth grade in eternity should tip people off).

Also just started wondering what Trudy would dress up as, if we meet her – if she would be mean enough to her boyfriend and dress as a cat. :p
