Interesting commitment Phil is making here.

Somehow doesn’t come through as a positive move on Phil’s part…

To put it simply, Phil’s giving up.

Somehow I’m not sure he has discussed this with Georgia.

I can relate. I cut my hair,mustache and beard short, lost weight, cut way back on my drinking…..so I figured…. I must really be in love with her, and got married.

Did Phil give up… or cave in?

And may she be worthy of it, and always make him happy that he did it all for her.

Maybe it is time to rethink that plan

I wouldn’t ask my bf to give up anything except his wife.

Seems Phil has amnesia about his near death experience in the canoeing disaster and his worrying that he would never see Georgia, Elly or his parents ever again.

If he thinks he’s making Sacrifices by marrying her, Things Will Not End Well.

Ouch! Wrong thing to say Phil!

Did Phil and Georgia’s marriage have issue? To put it another way, did the marriage produce any children?

You would give up your trumpet? I bet that sacrifice would end the deal.

Phil should not be getting married. Funny thing about bad habits – if you give them up for someone, you usually end up taking them up again because of that person.
