“To speak is such sweet Sparrow,” uh, howzabout, “sorrow?” Uh, bring back my writers, I’m getting actor’s block, uhm, writer’s block. Exit – stage left (that would be your right, Satch!).
Brilliant! Reminds me of the cartoon after Mel Blanc’s death, with all the characters he voiced standing around a microphone—Bugs Bunny et al,. The caption on that famous cartoon, “Speechless”
@SRQgoneBananas“Stage left” is left of center stage when facing the audience. I acted in school and much later tried for a year to go professional. I ran out of the ability to sustain debt.
In this particular case the writers strike shut down production on TV shows and some movies, and led the Screen Actors Guild and various crafts unions – including the Teamsters – to not cross the lines. In the long term it led to the amalgamation of Writers Guild East and West and the Amalgamation of SAG and AFTRA. It also led to the networks airing a lot more reality shows (“non scripted” by writers but with production assistants picking the storylines that would be followed in the shows for a lot less pay than writers would get) and foreign production.

It’s easier to withstand than a lightning strike.

Y’know, the cartoonists for “Henry” and “The Little King” never seemed to have any problems with writer’s strikes.

What Writer’s Strike?

Sooo…not a new one…? ’Cause the last one was a lingering nightmare that some shows never recovered from!

Brilliant, even if it is 8 years old!
