I can’t believe no one here has heard of this book. It’s a minor classic. There was a movie and a musical is planned.

Alex, as a (retired) teacher, I can assure you that teachers do, indeed, offer Tuck Everlasting as a reading choice for their students.

Now it’s on my winter reading list.

My week consists of two “Sundays”, two “Mondays”, two “Fridays” and one “Wednesday”.No “Saturday”, “Tuesday” or “Friday”.Hows that for folding time?

It gets worse the older you get. Just about the time that I got used to Wednesday ( dinner out) coming the day after Sunday ( football), Easter started coming about two weeks after Christmas.

This week is one of my favorites:Monday is Monday because it’s Monday, it is also Wednesday because there’s only two days until the end of the week.Tuesday is Tuesday, but it’s also Wednesday because it’s the middle of the work week. That means that Monday is Tuesday because it’s the day before Wednesday. Tuesday is also Thursday because the next day is the last day of the work week.Wednesday therefore becomes Friday (the last day of the work week), and Thursday because it follows Wednesday.I could go on, but then this would become a Pearls Before Swine feature.

Dianne LeeIt’s only fair. After all, Christmas started before Halloween this year and yet, Advent has vanished from the liturgical calendar.

Don’t you get “stats in lieu?” Here in Canada if the statutory holiday falls on a Saturday or Sunday almost everyone gets an automatic Monday holiday (in lieu) . No missed day off.
