Of course, this is actually a commentary on climate change. According to an interview with a major Agribusiness rep on CBS News, we need to concentrate resources on producing more Frankenfish, so we can continue to feed our growing international population as the oceans rise and wipe out other food production…

Plenty of water, though….Um, what are they eating now….? It doesn’t look very crowded on the that there Ark as it is….Speaking of bunnies, Hef, did Noah pack a lot of carrots for the bunnies? Bamboo leaves for the pandas?…Flies for the spiders to catch in their webs? Potato salad for flies to land on? Carrion for the crows? Does the Bible say anything about how many shovels he needed to keep the place clean?

All animals were vegetarians before the flood ( Gen. 1:30 )After the flood, it was open season for the new carnivores (Gen. 9:3)

Bears, rabbits, and dinosaurs – all unclean animals (only 2 of each on the ark).Dinosaurs – slow reproductive rate, not much to eat.Rabbits – well, there’s the stereotype that produced enough food for the bears.

@ Chris Maple: will kill many people? ****, there were only 8 people alive after the Flood! God had already killed many people!

(And just think … They could all have been converted to Christianity instead …)

When I was a kid, my Grandmother had an old bible, amonst other things that were in it that’s not in the bible anymore, is at the end of Daniel there was story about Bel and the Dragon. It had some more books of the bible in it. I have no idea what it was, but my Grandmother wondered why things were missing in the regular bible, King James’s Authorized Version. The KJV still has a cockatrice in it. Bible dictionary says it’s a serpent. Not so. A cockatrice is a beast hatched from a rooster’s egg. It’s glance can kill you. It was kept in the dungeon (or basement). The only way to kill it was to trick it into looking into a mirror.

Bears are omnivores and could survive on carrion (lot of dead dinosaurs and unicorns…) until the rabbits do their thing….. :)

Why did god hate land animals, kids and babies, none of whom could remotely be blamed for what adults supposedly did……but fish etc were spared. Do mice have original sin but not halibut?

Why did God tell Noah to gather up all the animals? Couldn’t he just make a bunch of new ones after he senselessly drowned all the animals…In fact, couldn’t he have just made a bunch of new Noahs? Why not start all over again? Is god getting Lazy? Or was he afraid he’d screw it up again?

A belief in the veracity of the Noah’s Ark story requires a commitment to fantasy that’s beyond most humans older than 4 years old.

I saw a great play this summer and God said that the ark was a myth, and if he could create everything in 6 days, he could easily just replace all of the animals again. Which he did. (except for a few failures, apparently)

Well, there were those grain stores in the pyramids…. Don’t think about that too hard any further than it seems facts seem inconvenient for some peoples truths. Which brings to play the other question, how true does something have to be to actually be true?

Unfortunately the amount of rainwater necessary to carry out the flood fantasy would have reduced the saline content of the oceans so much that ocean fish would not have survived.

What will they eat? The ark came to rest in the seventh month, and the animals did not leave until the start of the following year—so the plants could grow for five months. Further, the dove that returned had a branch of an olive tree—and if trees are growing, surely shrubs and grass will be well established.

Remember, guys—it’s a cartoon. It has talking bears and rabbits. It’s not intended to be “realistic.”

And, of course, since Noah & Family were the Only Human survivors, we are all descended from a Very Incestuous family..With a Gene Pool that shallow, how did they avoid raising an entire species of nothing but Kallikaks?

@Linquist, et al.The Catholic bible does have books and chapters not in the Protestant bible, or more correctly, the Protestant bible lacks some parts that are in the Catholic Bible. The Canonical Books of the Christian Bible were decided upon in about 380 AD. During the Protestant Reformation (c. 1520) they trimmed the contents of the Old Testament to match the Jewish scriptures, which were finalized around 100 – 200 AD. This dropped parts of Daniel as well as some books like Wisdom. In Catholic terminology, the Apocrypha refers to books that were never part of the canon, like the Gospel of Thomas. The books that are not part of the Jewish scriptures but were in the 380 AD canon, and are still in the Catholic Bible, are called Dueterocanonical, while many Protestants call these books the Apocrypha.

Several good points have been raised here against the historicity of the Noah’s Ark myth; there are many, many more. See here and here. It’s some combination of pathetic, sad, and revolting that so many supposed adults still believe an obvious pre-scientific children’s story.
