Joe, Mortimer looks like he may have a good deal of German shepherd in him. He is just a puppy. If there are GSD genes in him, he will turn protective around 1 year to 18 months.

Very little training is required. He will know what to do and how to do it. Note, I did NOT say “aggressive.”

Our dog is impressive looking, and quite protective of him momma, but he’s never been aggressive. Maybe he just depends upon his looks; I certainly do.

Dealing with people all day who have done bad things can skew your view of humanity. The unrealistic (In A Good Way) thing is how few here are warped by it.
