ALMANAC
Frazz: On the first day past solstice a nice discovery: The full moon and Christmas come simultaneously. I know the one comes every year, the other quadri-weekly. I can't say why but both at once is heaven for the geekly.
Here in ENC we probably won’t see the moon for the cloud cover and showers. As to the temperature….we had a bullfrog out last night and the tree peepers are at it this morning at 0630 ET.Who da thunk it?
Not only is this full moon special because it falls on Christmas, it is also a “libation” full moon — since it is at its most southern point in the sky, we can actually peak a little of the north pole and see bits normally hidden from terrestrial eyes.
I recall once responding similarly when I discovered that there would be a full moon on our anniversary (Feb. 14: Valentine’s Day and Lupercalia). A most happy confluence.

Neat! Hopefully there will be some new-fallen snow for it to illuminate.

We still need one more thing for the trifecta …A clear sky to see the moon through.

The geekly? Only a geek would come up with word like that! BTW, the first panel rhymes have at least two too many syllables….

Christmas stress, family gatherings, often involving alcohol, and the full moon all at once. Stand back, keep moving, nothing to see here.
