Now Tracy’s back at the 3d mansion. Mrs. 3d probably didn’t even miss him when he went back to the Police Diner to talk to LIz. He sure does get around!
In case you were wondering about those Special Forces that Chief Liz mentioned the other day that were also assigned to the same case…

SPECIAL FORCES REPORT
CASE: MISSING D.D. D’BUCKWORTH
Golly, we looked all over and couldn’t find him. We d’ug and d’ug but for d’nothing. We asked some beggar on the corner if he knew anything and he just laughed. Then we went to the Police Diner, I got a three scoop sundae, and – gee whiz – I got a nice cream headache. Then I went home and sorted out all my toy cars by color.
I hope that great detective Dick Tracy finds out something. Why that comic strip about his adventures – hey, it’s d’lightful, it’s d’licious, it’s d’-lovely…
Is the “Companies Stealing Trade Secrets, No Trust In Government, Insider Trading, Crime On The Rise” Center near the “Science Museum Theater Where Everyone Forgot About An Actor Being Shot On Stage And Now His Body Is Stinking Up The Place?”
Flight Suit: Those are earrings? I thought she had some kind of parasitic slugs clinging to her ears! (Well, an outbreak of brain-eating slugs would explain her constantly-changing answers, wouldn’t it?)
…crime on the rise, a classic comic strip going to rack and ruin, and I’m down to seeds and stems again too.

I am ever amazed at the lack of internal continuity in this strip. To keep a story tight, you don’t waste time. All the plot points necessary between Dick and the old lady should have been covered last week (which they were, then summed up with the chief). Why is he back there now?
Mrs D reminds of the story arc that got be back into this strip - the Al Kinda one. There was an agent that everyone said was a beautiful woman, and I keep reading cause I was so sure she was a man in drag. That never happened and the next story was halfway decent, and now I’m stuck here.
You know, I also notice the inconsistencies in this comic strip, but it seems most people only come here to gripe about the short-comings. Does anyone actually enjoy this strip at all, or is it merely to point out its flaws?

Are Ms. D’buckworth’s earrings spring-loaded? They’ve gotten much shorter and fatter.

Mrs. 3d always has the latest in novelty earrings.

She has a novelty chin today, too.

I say just arrest Mrs D and move on to the next story.

Yesterday Tracy was with Liz(z) and now today he’s back with Mrs. D. Consistency is not a strong point of the “creative” team.
veldy about 14 years ago
I guess one could say “creative” is a relative term

Whattaya mean starting , this story was born dragging and its getting slower !
BTW is it just me or is Mrs 3D actually just an ugly guy in Drag?
billdi Premium Member about 14 years ago
good point gillbill. if mrs 3D isn’t the culprit behind his disappearance, he was wise to get out of dodge and away from that mug.
veldy about 14 years ago
May just be a guy in drag, would explain the obligatory “peeing on the wall” scene couple days ago

AUGH. This strip is a study in what not to do.
