Actually, about once a month I collect all of the “unmentionables” such as trash cans, tennis shoes (which don’t do well getting banged around in the washing machine) nick-knacks, combs and brushes, and run them through the dishwasher. Then I run the empty dishwasher with a packet of Kool-Aid to clean it. NEVER the toilet brush, though. That is grody.You can also soak brass items in grape Kool-Aid to remove tarnish. No. When said kitchen brush was pulled back up from the putrid depths of THAT bowl, all the bristles would be melted off…..the handle’d likely get a flash-burn, too…..

We used a military version of kool aid to clean our m-16 when I was in the army.
toilet brush in the dishwasher ewwww. that would require four or five cycles with bleach afterwards
