A friend and I walked into a restaurant and asked for the non-smoking section. The waitress moved the ashtray off the table and sat us there.

I love how he sits down while she has to pay and wait for the food.

Y’all are missing the real amusement potential here. Wait until Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum try to slide into booth seats.

Referring to the sign on the wall, to the left, I have a friend who, no matter what his comment is, always ends the statement with “and such.” I know it is a habit, and most likely comes from the small area where he was raised, but it can be annoying.

I remember those days, what a joke. Was happy when they outlawed smoking in restaurants. However thought it was stupid when outlawed smoking in bars. Killed more than one neighborhood bar in my area. I don’t smoke, but that was just crazy. People who go to the bar to drink also go to smoke.

I love non-smoking public places. As an asthmatic, I had to avoid most restaurants, etc., when smoking was common. However difficult it is, a smoker can quit, but I an’t stop having asthma.

Used to be able to smoke in airplanes, Smoking section would be like the rows 21 and back. Non-smoking in row 20 and forward. Used to be able to smoke in hospitals, and the waiting room at the family doctor.Everybody smoked, it seemed. Laura Petrie, and an “expecting” Lucy Ricardo.

years ago in minnesota when they first initiated the ruling that every restaurant had to have a non-smoking section, there was a dingy cafe that had a 2 person table in the corner that had a sign over it just like this…and the rest of the place, pretty much everyone else was smoking…

My 8 month pregnant wife and I were seated in the no smoking section of a nearly empty restaurant. A young man sat at the next booth and started chain smoking. I asked him to move, completely ignored me. I asked the manager to do something about it, “He’s the owners son, we’ll all get fired if we say anything.” We walked out without paying.

Is anybody old enough to remember being seated in the non-smoking section of an airplane…?

I quit smoking 35 years ago. Still miss it. I am still waiting for my flying car and my safe cigarette.

They’re really dressed up. I wonder if there were no tables available at the Crustwood All-you-can-choke-down Buffet.
