Crossover! Two of my favorites (and of course Tatulli and Pastis are prone to poke fun at each other, as we have seen in some great videos over at that social networking site)!
behome09 you have to read pearls before swine :

to understand the reference. I just wish it was offered here instead of the other place.
OMG Love this one! Yes they need to offer Pearls here!!! Maybe we need to send Guard Duck to talk gocomics and convince them it is a good idea ;o)
And for those who are confused Stephan (creator of Pearls) tends to use puns in his jokes which then irritates Rat LOL And they are some terrible puns.
Two of my favorites, together again! And, not only are some of the puns in Pearls terrible (in a great way), they’re some of the LONGEST puns in the English language! (And by coincidence I just happen to be reading a Xanth book; talk about puns!)
One of my favorite “Pearls” puns: Zebra had heard that scratched record albums can be restored by being rubbed with Vicks, so he asked Rat to help him rub it on his Baroque records. “If it ain’t Baroque, don’t Vicks it.”
And just another example of his puns on the back of the desk calander page for yesterday he had “Ever since my friend had all the digits amputated from his feet, I find him very annoying. I think I might be lack-toes intolerant.”
I love it! I enjoy reading Lio and Pearls, and I love how completely opposite their approaches are. From no dialog to absolute verbosity. I bet Lio could take care of the crocs, but then I’d miss them something fierce. Funny how there seems to be an endless supply of them though.

I sure didn’t get either. Thanks for the explanation bmwk as to why. I felt really dense.

I forgot to color in Zebra’s nose. Big mistake. Now it’s all I can see.

I still feel dense. I read Pearls Before Swine, but still don’t get it.

BTW, Lio had better be careful not to play in Rat’s pool today.

HAHAHA as a fan of both Lio and Pearls, I love how they poke fun at comics so openly. I think that’s what makes them so good.
Logical Duck over 14 years ago
I think it’s better that you didn’t color in Zebra’s nose. This way it looks like your own “take” on the PBS artwork, instead of replicating it.

I like the Pearls strips with Annie Mae the enemy anemone.

I just don’t find Pearls funny, especially compared to Lio.

Great comics panel….”We don’t accept puns here. The panel next door (Pearls) does though.” Very funny stuff.
