Frazz by Jef Mallett for January 08, 2016
Transcript:
Mr. Spaetzle: If it was so past its prime, why didn't you toss it? Mrs. Olsen: You finish what you start. Caulfield: If that's the way she is with a 59 cent banana, I am never going to be able to abandon a bad book halfway through. Frazz: Not in Mrs. Olsen's class, no.

I still can’t abandon a bad book half way through…or even 30 pages in. It is a curse begun by the nuns drumming into our brains to finish whatever we had begun!

When she was a young woman banana’s were 25 cents a bunch. That would make throwing out a 59 cent banana very difficult!

I used to complete any book I started, until one day, reading a bad book, I thought, “What law says that I have to finish this?” and put it down. Life is too short to waste time on bad books. (Definition of “bad” being up to the individual, of course.)
