I think kids usually DO notice the bullying going on; after all, most of the time the bully is doing it for the audience’s reaction, not the victim’s. Phoebe would be terribly self-centered if this was going on around her and she’d “never noticed it before.”

So that’s where all the black jellybeans go.

Boy bullying and girl bullying are often very different. Max probably doesn’t notice how mean Dakota is to Phoebe, either.

I enjoy black jellybeans.
