That’s what happens to exercise equipment: they become cloths racks. (Have you thought of the closet, Michael?)

In my case clothes went into closet and or the downstairs hamper depending upon condition. Everything else pretty much just disappeared into the toybox/desk with a dropleaf front. Then it was just a quick flip of the blankets, a few swipes of the broom or dustmop and Instant Clean Bedroom.

Yeah, he’s running out of places to put his clothes.

Lynn’s Notes:I went to visit Mike Peters (Mother Goose and Grimm) in Florida. He had a “NordicTrack” in his rec room and it was covered with coats and other clothing. I asked him if he ever used it and he said, “Of course!” and he pointed, theatrically to the elaborate clothes rack it had become. That was the inspiration for this strip.

I found a way to help keep clothes off the bedroom floor. I put standing pole coat racks in their rooms. They did put their clothes on it, but I was the one who sorted them out for dirty or clean. It worked as a compromise between constant floor piles and the nagging that went with it, and getting them to put dirty in the hamper (not ON the hamper or thrown TOWARD the hamper) or placing worn-for-five-minutes and then rejected, onto the floor.

Personally I always used a chair for my clothes, at least for overnight, I was one of the “good boys” who always put his dirty clothes in the hamper the next morning.

What happened to Michael’s shirt between panels 1 and 2? It seems to have instantly turned from blue to red.

Only after having warned the child several times that she was going to do exactly that if they weren’t put away.

Patterson. Although in the later strips it looks like he needs to be shopping for larger jeans, so your second guess is not far off.
