DH always picks up coins, even though he’s got spinal stenosis. But it makes him happy, so sometimes I toss a coin where I know he will be walking. Our secret, OK?

Picking up dropped things is the only exercise I get.

Luckily, I’m staying in shape. It may not be as easy to pick up things ( I do coins), but my husband doesn’t like to pick up anything. We even have 3 retriever type things for him, stll it waits until I see whatever.

I have often said that you’re not “old” until it’s too much work to bend down to pick up a penny.

Gravitational attraction increases as two masses get closer to each other. Gravity has a greater effect if your center of mass is on the floor than standing up. It’s science.

Go ahead and get the nickel. You will need it for stamp money. Michael

An old farmer was getting up from his side of a two seater out house when a quarter rolled out of the side pocket of his overalls and into the hole..“Dang!” he said, and then reached into another pocket, pulled out a dollar, and dropped it in as well..“Now why in tarnation did you do that?” asked his wife from her side..“Well,” said the plugger, “I’m damned if I’m going down there for a lousy two bits!”

We have change jar with an electric counter on the lid…

We have one too, but it often confuses pennies with dimes, so the amount in the jar is likely inaccurate!

My wife picked it up on clearance; I believe they were intended to go to Australia…

Ten years ago, it took real money for me to make the effort. Eight years ago and since, I find it easy to pick up pennies. If I had to get my knee down to pick it up, I would leave it.
