rj: how can batman ever defeat superman? verne: well...superman gets his powers from our yellow sun, right? Rj: okay, so...lure him into a dark, lead-lined mine shaft... verne: ..behind a door made of kryptonite. rj: after a week, batman goes in to finish him off. verne: But he opens the door at sunrise, superman reboots...and batman is toast. rj: so batman is an idiot in this scenario. verne: he's a guy in a bat suit going up against a godlike flying alien..."idiot" is kind.

He’d be dead from the kyptonite after that long if he was exposed to it. Besides, he could just go the other way, out of the kryptonite radiation range. Lead isn’t exactly going to contain Superman.

Plenty of cases where Batman defeats Superman. Superman may be strong, fly etc. But Batman is a tactical genious – he got a counter plan in case Superman goes rogue. People ought to read the Injustice comics to get where the idea from Batman Vs Superman came from.

Tue it actually comes from the seminal 1986 4 issue The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller. The story is different as in that it is in the future and Batman has retired and is super jaded while Supes is basically a pawn of the government. He comes back to stop him. He uses all sorts of tricks to stop the Man of Steel.
Trekman this is when they do not know each other yet. Batman just sees an incredible threat to the world that he has to try to stop. He has always been about vengeance. They are going to fight at first but at some point they are going to communicate or Supes is going to do something to show Bats that he is not really a threat. Hence, Dawn of Justice.

Yeah, in TDKR, Batman enlists Green Arrow to shoot an arrow at Superman, that’s actually a Kryptonite bomb. Superman catches the arrow for affect, and it blows up in his hand. Obviously, if Superman were smart enough to suspect it was Kryptonite, he wouldn’t have let it near him, but he’d just survived a nuclear blast, and wasn’t exactly 100%.

There is only ONE WAY to solve this! Someone needs to put in a call for Sheldon and Leonard.

I totally agree with Verne

I’m pretty certain that while Kryptonite weakens superman it won’t kill him.

The only reason Batman ever beats Superman is “artistic license”.
