But you have to give humans credit for figuring out how to make one of those things without the use of magic.

I remember “Pong” but don’t recall it featuring unicorns. The Shield of Boringness must have been programmed into the game software.

Actually pong was not the first game. Space war was in 1962. Pong wasnt out until 1972.

As a Game Master, I could say how wrong is that… but also, I don’t expect the origin of video games be a subject everyone knows in detail.

The very first video game that ever existed was “Tennis for Two” in 1958. It was created by William Higinbotham at Brookhaven National Laboratory, and was played on a 5 inch diameter oscilloscope.https://www.bnl.gov/about/history/firstvideo.php

So…you’re telling me I was actually COOL when I was sitting there, wondering when SOMETHING might happen other than ‘blip’, ‘bloop’, ‘blup’? Other than burning a pattern into the TV tube if I left it on and inactive, I mean.

Typical unicorns, always trying to steal credit for every major invention in history, I bet an unicorn invented the light bulb first too

Sigh. And there you have the difference between humans and Unicorns: They get the beautiful “Glimmering Volley” (yes, absolutely with glitter and stars and rainbows). We get the less euphonious but undoubtedly onomatopoeic Pong. Sigh.

I expected The Glimmering Volley to have been invented by Ellen Alicorn
