Ha! Look at this! Ponce de Leon came all the way across the ocean and for what? To find a magic pool of water to make him young forever! Magic water? Just there, bubbling up out of some dirt someplace? How old was this guy? And how gullible? Did you look up any of that? I think all that fountain of youth stuff was tacked onto his story after he died. He'd been governor of Puerto Rico or someplace, and his King sent him off to explore, when he got to Florida. Nuh-uh! He was a goofy old dude, probably trying to cure his baldness! So once again the argument for teaching accurate history takes it on the kneecaps...
