That reminds me of that article I read, a doctor was complaining that parents proudly claimed that their little ones could stack cubes like noone on their play tablet, but those babies couldnât in fact do it in real life and had no real eye-hand coordination and no ability to handle real life geometry.
Some people have allowed themselves to misled by online âexperience,â without being willing to question whether itâs really the same thing as hands-on experience.
it would have been awful to get into the water (even though we are talking about summing), besides, with somebody who actually knows watches you and corrects you, according to what you are currently doing. Luckily thatâs behind
the old days of teaching kids to swim was basically simulated drowning. throw them into the deep end, hold their head underwater, waterboard them(which to some people is not torture). or, just deny them access to the pool because people donât like the color of their skin.
In the last episode of âBlack-ishâ, the father tried to learn to swim by watching YouTube videos, so he could attend a neighborâs pool party. He almost drowned, and had to be dragged out of the pool by his seven year old daughter. The joke, and the lesson, is that some skills can only be learned through active practice over time.
