If Earl says he’s doing to do nothing dumb, he’s bound to something dumb.

Looks like Earl clogged up the toilet again.

“Can’t a guy just do some little project he likes doing without his wife using insults, sarcasm or trying to tell him how to do it?”

A fellow at our church volunteered to make the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the kids, and his wife stood beside him the entire time, telling him he was doing it all wrong. Unless you take a notion to put the peanut butter on the outside, there is NO wrong way to make a sandwich. I was so embarrassed for the poor man I had to leave the kitchen, or I would have decked her.

So she should just shut her mouth and ignore her husband? How about ignoring him when he hurts himself or is she allowed to call 911/help him then?

I used to say that to my grandson: " I don’t care what you do, so long as you’re quiet, and clean up the mess !". "

Why tell her, she wouldn’t understand anyway…

She knows him well. And she knows he will be noisy and will not clean up after himself. But he will be proud of his “work”.

I think she better go check out what he’s doing so he doesn’t flood the house or electrocute himself – because she loves him.

Earl tends to over-estimate his skill level. Better investigate, Opal. Repeat after me: I’ll call the plumber."

Dumb and quiet? Quite a challenge from my perspective. Most of my really dumb things have resulted in my screaming for help as I dangled from ladders or bled all over things.
