The dividing line between eastern and central is less than50 miles (80km) east of Chicago. We should move it westso that Chicagoland (NE Illinois) is in the eastern time zone.
Only the coffee maker clock is manually set correctly. Atomic clocks, cell phones, GPS, and computers are automatically set. Everything else is set to the time you bought it.
Weâd have a lot less confusion and trouble if we got rid of DST. And Ed is the highest paid engineer in the office because Rita is always impressed by people doing things wrong.
On my non-essential clocks, they stay on Daylight Savings time since we spend more of the year in that configuration. My phone and alarm clock update automatically.

This is what I do with the car clock. We spend more of the year in DST than standard time.

Since I am retired, I leave my clocks on DST all year around. No more jet lag twice a year.

Had a dental appointment in AZ and drove from California. Time difference got us to be an hour late. Oops!
