So it must have been worthless advice.

Attorneys bill for their time, not their advice.So even if one does not take the advice, they still have to pay the attorney for their time.

Advice charged by the hour is often worth less.

But you said take my advice, not buy my advice.

I’m an accountant. The guy in the Shoe strip sounds like one of my ex-clients from about 20 years ago.

In Fort Worth, Texas in the 1960s and 1970s there was a lawyer whose office was under a big oak tree in his front yard. His office was open when he was under the tree.

I don’t think the lawyer cares if Cosmo took his advice.

“I only pay for illegal advice!”

The lawyer admitted that he “gave” the advice – so now he’s trying to charge for his gift?

Good idea: Don’t pay lawyers if their advice isn’t good-don’t pay doctors if they don’t make you better.
