Well, I guess this explains why Lucy later on went under the impression that she could treat Charlie Brown however she wanted. Of course, at least she was more gentle here.
Reminds me of my seven-year-old granddaughter, a sweet little girl who lives on my lap or in my arms whenever she’s around and who also knows how to wrap me around her pinkie by using the word “please” like Beverly Sills used Puccini. And I usually let her get away with it. Gladly.
When I was little and said it to my mom like that she’s often say something like “Anything else your Royal Want-ness?” Or simply “You’re a pain in the butt.”

Who cannot resist that melodic, hypnotizing “please”? (The book went from orange to green and back to orange.)

Woah—history. Lucy actually said please instead of threatening CB! However, she is already expecting anyone around her to fetch and carry.

Lucy is drawn smaller than CB….is she supposed to be younger? I thought she and CB were the same age?
