Patty and Violet were pretty teenager-y for the times, being about, what? Seven? in the strip.

He said a friend. He never said he would be flesh and bone. I hope Patty and Violet go easy on Schroeder.

Seriously? Just what does “first comment” have to do with the strip?

Is this Violet’s first appearance with the pony tail/bun instead of braids?

In the future, Lucy will look at a picture of Beethoven and comment that he’s kind of cute, whereupon Schroeder will explode, “BEETHOVEN WAS NOT ‘CUTE!’” Seems he changed his tune, if you’ll pardon the expression.

Did you know Beethoven never learned how to multiply or divide? For example, if he had to multiply 18 × 13, he’d lay out eighteen 13 times over and add them up…

At least they’re serving real food instead of mud pies—it’s a well-known fact that Beethoven HATED mud pies!

I forget how old these are, until I look at the last panel and see the young, hunky Beethoven.
