The new suburbs in the 1950s. No “Kite-Eating” trees big enough to threaten Charlie Brown.

These old ‘Sunday’ strips are getting earlier in the week all the time. Why is that happening, anyone know?

Now all the kids would be tangled up in their charging cords. Imagine, kids having to make do with balloons and jump ropes for fun. How did we survive? Of course, now, if I have five minutes to kill, out comes the phone. I’m as guilty as everyone else.

One of the few times Chuck actually got a kite into the air without the tree eating it. ;-)

Again, there’s the suggestion in these early strips that Snoopy is Shermy’s dog.

Surprise! This may be the only time Charlie Brown actually got his kite in the air without the kite-eating tree nabbing it!

At least the kite wasn’t eaten by the “kite-eating tree.”

For a shocking change, CB’s kite didn’t get eaten by the mean tree!

You need a kid with a yoyo to complete the catastrophe. I know Linus is still too little but has Schulz used his whole established cast here?
