Haha- that’s actually pretty good. These early strips aren’t really heavy on great humor, but this one’s funny.

He scrubs up well…once a year.

SPOILER: a few years down the road, someone will fall for you, Pig. Someone with the same initials. So there’s that. In “Who’s your favorite character” polls, Pig-Pen was always very highly rated. I read that Schulz was always sad, but he couldn’t think of much to do with P-P, other than dirt jokes.

There were many strips that showed a clean Pigpen, only for him to become, as he put it, a dust magnet.

What has happened to the weekday strips?

She should have asked, “Who are you?”

Dress to impress, but with some women, despite how clean shaven, they will be unimpressed, and you will be nothing but depressed.

Violet wasn’t very nice. After her advice, the least she could do would be to give him a quick hug. But it’s already been established that that’s not in her character (at least in this generation of the strip).

I wonder if he soaked in degreaser

Violet was, by far, my least favorite character in this strip. But I think I heard that Schulz modeled her after a female who had treated him similarly.

Who was that guy?

I see he is wearing his Trump tie.

I’m surprised she even recognized him!

But we never know his real name.

I bet Pig-Pen would get along great with Oscar the Grouch. actually, scratch that. Oscar doesn’t get along with anybody.
