Alright, more Godzilla on the blog!

That’s a publicity still from 1965’s “Monster Zero.”

Great picture of Coltrane, Adderly et al on the Blog. I didn’t know that they’d ever made a recording together. Seeing John C. reminded me of one of my favorite singers and songwriters from years back, Chi Coltrane (no relation to John). I Googled her and discovered that she’s making a comeback! (Anyone else remember “Thunder and Lightning”?) Chi was (and still is) a beautiful woman, to boot. The Blog has sent me off on so many web-surfing adventures…some like this one, unintended. Teresa, I think you work hard digging things up for your “Lame” Blog, and we do appreciate it.

Hmmmm! I am still trying to figure out what is going on with the “Turn Up the Volume” post.

Some days, things just elude me completely.

No groupies? Obviously, he wasn’t fodder for conformists. ;-)

RIP, Mitch. Please pardon me if I don’t “follow along” on this one.

Whew! I thought Frog Applause and the blog would be taken over by penguins–it is happening to a lot of comics tonight (my time).

Japan has ramps like #5, for the pedestrian overpasses, but they are for bicycles, not wheelchairs. Japan isn’t very wheelchair friendly.

I grew up “Singing Along With Mitch”. The show was pretty cheesy but for the time was very cool (compared to Lawrence Welk at least). And he was right about one thing. 90% of rock and roll is tripe. RIP Mr. Miller.

Well, I hate to kick a man when he’s REALLY down, but listening to the recently and dearly departed Mitch never did quite the same thing to me that listening to “Free Bird” or “Jessica” does…

If the TDL ever has a reunion, we should get Mitch Miller and the Levitating Dik Diks to provide the entertainment.

well i do like my rock… but Mitch’s music was a lot more interactive. can’t remember the last time family or friends got together and put some Deep Purple on to sing along with “knocking at your backdoor” or “Mitzi Dupree”.

I’ve heard that it’s pretty easy to make your own stink bomb using Valerian Root (an herbal sleep aid) and vinegar.

Just Google “valerian root stink bomb” for instructions. I have some Valerian root extract, but I’m afraid to try it.

Coltrane and Cannonball were an integral part of Miles’ Sextet which in 1959 recorded the largest selling jazz album ever (over 50 million units). “Kind of Blue” is still a big seller today.

It was the first show to regularly feature a black singer, Leslie Uggams, in my white-bread childhood. (We couldn’t afford a TV for anything earlier.) By my teens, The Johnny Cash Show featured all kinds of music. But ♫If there’s a rock’n’roll heaven…♫
