PG-13 was created by the Motion Picture Association of America in 1984 in response to the PG rating “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom” had received upon its original release. The movie contains scenes of gore and violence – such as yanking a beating heart out of a human sacrifice’s chest – more appropriate of a R-rated movie. I enjoyed the movie when it came out, but was surprised at how violent it was. BTW, “Raiders” and “The Last Crusade are better films than “Doom”. The less said about “Crystal Skull”, the better.
Darn the rating system. There is a movie that came out just before the ratings started. The Wild Bunch. I saw it twice before it got censored because of the ratings. You can not get the original movie anywhere. The so called director’s cut is the censored version.
hang on, I have a degree in history. I remember reading about places like this. where people would go to gather in large crowds to watch projections on a screen. How crude life was before streaming.
I love progress. It moves faster than you can see. For example, they are at a 32 screen theatre but by the time they’re done reading the warning they’re standing in front of a 64 screen theatre.
Milo and Binkley should turn away, buy themselves some ice cream, and then go home. Cinemas are exorbitant ( chiefly the concessions) and most of the films are dreck….

Binkley doesn’t surprise me but I thought Milo had a bit more depth.

Considering some of the movies starring ‘adults’, the Muppets seem like a good choice.

Hey anyone notice that the theater increased their viewing at the end, going from 32 screens to 64!
