How about a magazine like “Mixed Nuts” for, I don’t know, zebras, penguins, peacocks and all other non-monochrome beings (which is probably the majority of beings).
I just checked, Ebony does in fact have many people of different shades. I’m sure Binkly can find what he’s looking for in “Guns and Ammo” or dozens of other mags back then. I’m surprised the cartoonist didn’t know that.
So… somehow Bickley’s request implies racism with one word, but Oliver’s, though very specific and detailed and decidedly exclusionary, somehow doesn’t?
