I would sure love to have a Rosebud plush. Have 2 Opuses.

There is quite a selection of Basselope plush available on eBay. However, Rosebud doesn’t come cheap!

The phrase “I’d rather be pulled over carpet tacks and dipped in rubbing alcohol” made me laugh so hard when I first read it back in 1986 that I still use it to this day.

Opus would know.

I have a stuffed Opus.

I have around 10-15 different Opi plushes. No Rosebuds.

Does Rosebud get any royalties? If he does, he might not mind the merchandising very much. Money eases a lot of justifiable indignation.

Rosebud should have gone to work for Bill Watterson.

No basselope lunchboxes? Or are lunchboxes even a thing anymore?

I remember reading that one of the reasons Breathed stopped drawing Bloom County for a while was how the merchandise aspect went crazy. The Opus plush was everywhere, from gift stores to mass merchants to your local drug store. I think he just got tired of it.

My stuffed Opus is standing atop the bookshelves that house my huge collection of hardbound comic strip reprint collections.

Hey, Rosebud! Plushies happen. Deal with it! (Mr.Penguin Opus did, and look at him!)
