What a wonderful piece of imagination! When I was young and my father was reading pulp science fiction, I really thought that by now we’d be finding out for ourselves what’s out there. Instead, we’ve regressed to unmanned probes.
Sorry for your disappointment, Diat60. In truth, the more science learns about what’s out there, the more ridiculous it sound when someone thinks colonies on other planets, or even the moon, are feasible for supporting human life without first installing trillions of $$ in off-Earth infrastructure to grow bacteria for food and manufacture water and oxygenated air. The current crisis at the space station over having our current enemy Russia rescue the workers currently stranded there. There will need be peace on earth.

Not sure if that’s a laughable anticlimax, or profound….
