“Hiawatha room” in New Mexico? Sheesh! Us folks in Minne-snow-ta take umbrage at that cultural mis-appropriation.
Of course we also did when Norm Green bought the failing Minnesota North Stars “to ‘save’ them”, then a year later moved them to Texas and shortened the name to just “the Stars.”
And then there was that move of the Minneapolis Lakers basketball team, a name that made sense in a city with an actual chain of lakes, to Los Angeles, where the “river” is a man-made drainage ditch.
But appropriating “Hiawatha”? That’s absolute sacrilege!
My concert shirt from the Word Tour showed that 23 out of 24 stops scheduled were cancelled. Only the last stop in Albuquerque wasn’t. It was Sold Out.Yes I still have my shirt from ’87

Don’t knock it. At least they got a gig. Hope their pay is enough to cover expenses.
