This was a pretty funny but poignant arc. After all, at least Tom Binkley is being honest about his misgivings. Many people feel that way but remain silent, which is why we have the “Bradley Effect”. Named after Tom Bradley who back in ‘82 was thought to be a shoe-in for CA governor’s seat….. I suspect it is also a reason for why polls are sometime inaccurate; people tell the pollster what they infer is the most acceptable PC choice and then vote another way or simply sit on their hands…..
When this arc started, I went and pulled out my fist edition copy of “the Night of the Mary Kay Commandos” and re-read the whole book. Good satire, no matter which way it leans, should make one think and be funny. If it is not, it becomes an angry old man yelling at the kids running across his lawn. That book is loaded with good satire.

Liberal and conservative used to be adjectives (as used in this comic). I am a conservative democrat. Even the smiley face was melting down.

I liked Jesse. Still do. I would have liked to hear a State of the Union speech that rhymed.
