    No, no. Rosie’s right.

The reason I have two girls at home, despite male cats wanting more cuddles and being more affectionate, is that I do not have the time to clean up marked territory.

From what I’ve been told, even after being castrated, if they got used to doing it, they’ll keep marking it.

Female cats are a bit less cuddly, but at least, you don’t get any surprises when you come home , tired and, uh, indisposed.

Not true. All the dogs who played Lassie were males.

I’m guessing, at least as it applies to pet actors in the 50s/60s and even the 70s, for larger dogs it was too easy to see genitalia, and that was taboo back then.

According to the original story, Lassie is a female Rough Collie dog, but not everybody knows that Lassie was never played by a female dog. From MGM’s first film in 1943 to the last episode of the famous TV series, nine different dogs played Lassie, and they were all male.Rin Tin Tin was a male German Shepherd.

A lot of movie dog females were played by males. Males are larger and have thicker coats and don’t go into heat periodically.
